UTILIZING THE REPAIR TIP FEATURE ON THE INNOVA SCAN TOOL

What is a Repair Tip?

A Repair Tip is a detailed set of instructions tailored to address specific issues identified through Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) obtained from an Innova Scan Tool. These tips guide users through step by step procedures for diagnosing, checking, and repairing components or systems related to the detected DTCs, specific to the vehicle's year, make, model, and engine. By providing clear and detailed guidance, the Repair Tip feature saves users time and money by efficiently troubleshooting and resolving issues.

The following examples are demonstrated with the Innova SDS43.

Initial Inspection

This section will list commonly associated faults that can be confirmed visually during the inspection. These faults are often easily remedied and include items like loose or cracked hoses, and unplugged wires or components requiring minimal tools or disassembly to correct.

Possible Cause

This section will suggest vehicle issues that may have caused the DTCs.

Diagnostic Procedure

This section will show a step by step procedure for inspecting and diagnosing each component mentioned in the previous section. This section provides a detailed and easy to understand guide on wire color, pin number, component code, and component specifications like resistance, voltage, pressure, etc.

Repair Validation: After you repair or replace a component, you must perform tests or relearn cycles to ensure the problem with DTCs is fixed and your vehicle is operating normally. This section will demonstrate how to perform those tests and/or relearn cycles.
